When my yoga mat got grungy, I was ready to wipe it with disinfectant wipes.  But because the wipes had dried out, I did a little research to see what was available commercially for this purpose.  Turns out you can make your own spray easily for very little money.  Here’s a recipe I developed.  I store it in a colorful red spray bottle that I bought at IKEA for 50 cents!

3/4 cup water
1/4 cup white vinegar
5 drops essential oil (I like lavender, but other nice fragrances include mint, lemon, and teatree)

Shake and spray.  Let sit for perhaps 10 minutes.  Wipe down with a clean rag.  Let dry (drying in sunlight helps kill microbes).
