SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS

LOS GATOS

Tucked in the lush, green Santa Cruz Mountains, this small upscale community is centered at Santa Cruz Avenue and Main Street, with many boutiques and restaurants lining each.  It also claims to have 330 days of sunshine each year.  Originally a logging town, its name is Spanish for “the cats,” in reference to the mountain lions that once roamed the hills in large numbers.
