One of the great pleasures of San Francisco is wandering through a neighborhood and discovering its many pleasures and surprises.  When I do this, I like to zero in on perhaps a restaurant or art gallery as my target, and then while away the rest of my time exploring. 
          In addition to detailing shopping neighborhoods and the small shops and enticing restaurants found there, this section includes the city’s best shopping centers.  Hotels in the area are also usually included.
