House of Curries 1497 Solano Ave.  Patrons at this Pakistani-Indian spot order at the counter and secure their own utensils, water, and complimentary hot chai.  Among the tastiest items on the expansive menu are spicy vindaloos, tandoori lamb chops, and rice biryanis.  My personal favorites are the samosas, achar chicken, spinach-potato curry, and garlic naan.  A good selection of vegetable curries--including a delicious eggplant--are also available.  Seating is in a pleasant but small room, with folding windows open to a similarly sized sheltered open-air patio.  Take-out is choice.
