Berkeley Artisans Holiday Open Studios  November & December.  Free.  This self-guided tour allows participants to meet the artists in their studios and to purchase quality gifts.  My personal favorite locations are:

   BERKELEY-Berkeley Potter's Guild-orangatun by Patricia Uchill Simons-c2014-300pix
      orangatun by Patricia Uchill Simons
Berkeley Potters Guild  731 Jones St./Fourth St.  In this beehive of studios and sales displays, you’ll find everything ceramic, from attractive bowls and coffee cup to colorful tree ornaments to unusual jewelry.

   BERKELEY-Sawtooth Building2-2011-400pix(iPhone-c2012CaroleTerwilligerMeyes)

Sawtooth Building  930 Dwight Way/8th St.  Named for its zig-zag roofline, this sprawling building holds a warren of more than artist 50 studios.
